Goddess
Each step upon
the golden stairs of courage
is a promise to myself,
an ode to
my forgetting
I am shedding
all the remnants
of my past
like skin.
I hang them out to dry,
let them crinkle
in the sunlight
At night, I meet the ocean
taste her salt upon my lips,
kiss the current, let the weight
slip off my shoulders
I soak into the waters,
flow within her steady rhythm,
come alive in her mystic
realm of forgiveness
I am all about awakening,
taking bites of bitterness,
sipping salt to release what
no longer serves me
I float within my purpose,
come alive in pure surrender
embracing the goddess
who rises within me
